Ben van Berkel at Walter Knoll

In the series of introductions of renowned architects, Ben van Berkel came to Walter Knoll on 9th June 2010. After lectures by Kengo Kuma and Elke Delugan_Meissl in the past few years, this was the third event in the brandland in Herrenberg, which took place in cooperation with the Chamber of Architects Baden-Wuerttemberg.

Over 450 invited guests – architects, developers, dealers, contractors and investors – took up the invitation. Ben van Berkel reported about current projects and provided insights into his design philosophy. With innovative, computer-assisted design vocabulary, he succeeds in transforming architecture to sculpture – in urban projects, public buildings and in product design. Together with Walter Knoll, he developed the lounge chair MYchair and the sofa Circle, inspired by his design for the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.

A successful evening, which concluded with new insights, inspiring discussions and good music.
